Dr. Don Nguyen is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and Glaucoma specialist. He was born and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was valedictorian at Edmond Santa Fe High School and attended the University of Oklahoma for undergraduate and medical school.
His ophthalmology training includes residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio and a Glaucoma fellowship at the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford under the tutelage of the internationally renowned Dr. Kuldev Singh.
His areas of interest include combining cataract with minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, differentiating high myopia from glaucoma, using advanced imaging modalities for earlier detection and evidenced-based medicine for more precise treatment of glaucoma. He enjoys connecting with his patients on a personal level and catering each individuals treatment plan to their own level of disease and situation.
Dr. Nguyen has been trained to comprehensively treat and manage all glaucoma in a variety of ways including medication, lasers, and surgery. He also enjoys performing cataract surgery to help restore vision for patients. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and eating out at local eateries. He is also a die-hard Thunder and Sooner fan.
Dr. Nguyen is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmoloy, and American Glaucoma Society.
