After completing her residency at BVA Advanced Eye Care, Dr. Thompson spent several years in Texas, working with refractive surgeons in both Dallas and Austin. She moved back to Oklahoma City in 2015 and became PRK certified. Since September 2016, Dr. Thompson has been the aerospace optometrist at Tinker Air Force Base, working with active-duty military members in primary care, ocular disease, and refractive surgery capacities.

Her time with BVA set her up for success at all these practices, and she continues to be a high achiever at her current job, winning multiple awards including the highest honor, 2021 United States Air Force Medical Services Biomedical Sciences Corps Civilian Clinician of the Year. She became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 2017, published an article in Primary Care Optometry News in 2020, and enjoys presenting cases at the Armed Forces Optometric Association annual meetings.

Dr. Thompson is not all work and no play – she and her husband, Jason, enjoy taking wood turning classes, competing against one another for best final product. They are active real estate and mortgage note investors, creating safe and affordable housing in the OKC metro. For the past 5 years, they have been mentors to first time Airmen with the Tinker Air Force Base Home Away from Home program. She also enjoys traveling, gardening, and all kinds of crafting – quilting, miniatures, stained glass, and furniture rehabbing.
