Jason Ellen

“Be driven to become an expert in something, which means, be willing to fail enough to become known as an expert.”

Dr. Ellen grew up in El Dorado, AR, and attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, AR. After completing his residency in 2000, Dr. Ellen moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he helped build and expand a newly formed optometric referral/surgery center, serving as clinical director and ocular disease consultant. He became a partner in 2005 and then in 2015 partnered with Dr. Chad Chamberlain and together they purchased the Tulsa practice to form Oklahoma Medical Eye Group (OMEG)

Dr. Ellen remembers BVA with warm and funny memories; long car rides to satellite locations in Western Oklahoma, themed parties and Dr. Britton’s crazy driving.
He recalled Dr. Henry’s calm and sure spoken demeanor and his leading by example of balancing work and family. Qualities just as important as any ocular disease lesson could have received. Also learning how important it is to have a happy staff is pivotal to your business success. He associates some of his own goals and management situations to lessons learned at BVA “Dr. Britton’s true and unflappable support of optometrists, expansion of optometric training and co-management that helps support better patient care.”

Not slowing down anytime soon, Dr. Ellen is busy as a founding partner of the fast growing and incredibly successful practice OMEG, a husband of 26 years and a father of three wonderful boys.
