Steve Beck was born and raised near Seattle, Washington. After transferring to Indiana University, he attended Western Washington University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Sciences. In 1998, Steve Beck graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry. After graduating, Dr. Beck entered a residency through Northeastern State University in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he received advanced training in both ocular disease and refractive surgery. He was one of the few optometrists nationwide to routinely use lasers to treat various eye conditions. Dr. Steve Beck is a contributing author of the clinical textbook Primary Care of the Posterior Segment: Third Edition. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association, Indiana Optometric Association, and the local Tecumseh Optometric Association.

Steve and his wife, Stacey, currently live in West Lafayette with their two daughters. As a father, he has enjoyed coaching girls’ recreational and travel soccer since 2009.
