Reed Parker OD, FAAO, 2015-2016

Parker

Dr. Reed Parker completed his residency in Ocular Disease and Refractive Surgery at BVA Advanced Eye Care in Edmond in 2015. A native of Lafayette, Georgia, Dr. Parker attended Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN. He is a graduate of Auburn University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry. When asked what he remembered most of his time at BVA he answered,

“Dr. Henry’s commitment to the optometric co-management model solidified my attitude towards surgical eye care for patients of primary care optometrists. In my career I have done my best to mirror his excellent patient care and support for the optometric community. I have also used my knowledge of advanced optometric procedures, gained in residency, to help educate my colleagues and progress our profession. I am very thankful for the entire experience, clinical and professional.”

Dr. Parker is currently a partner with Southeast Eye Specialists in Knoxville, TN. A practice he says is much like BVA and is quickly growing to be the best eye care center in Knoxville.

His biggest accomplishment though he says is marrying his wife Rachel this past May during quarantine. Dr. Parker is a dedicated optometrist and says,

“I chose optometry because I have personally experienced high nearsightedness and know how life changing it is to have clear, unobscured vision. I enjoy seeing the excitement in my patients when they have a similar experience. I have developed a passion for providing this service to my patients through surgical and disease management, particularly with the aging population.”
